March 1st Update + Retail Location
Hey guys, we are well aware how silent things have been over here at Headcount. As exciting as the news has been we have had to iron out many details and keep our nose to the grindstone to make sure everything could go according to plan. So let me start by apologizing to to anyone who has been looking at our site over the last FIVE months seeing the same exact stuff on our website. We truly have not been able to give the label our full attention…….And here is why.
Effective March 1st, I (Bobby) will be taking over at Vinyl Conflict Records here in Richmond, VA. The current owners Brandon and Lauren Ferrell have found out that they will be having twins this year!! We are so excited for them! They have decided to focus on the raising of their children and have decided to let me take over the shop from them. It is an honor and a privilege that they have even considered me to take on this task. For those of you unfamiliar with the shop it is located on 324 S.Pine Street here in Richmond Virginia in the historic neighborhood of Oregon Hill.
March 1st is a Thursday, I will be bringing in our entire distro, a healthy chunk of my personal collection, and some things I’ve been hording for a little while. Please come on in as there will be TONS of new stuff to look at. We are making some new shirts and tote bags as well, so you will want to grab those up before they are gone! That Saturday the 3rd, we will be having a bit of a get together with some free treats! You will not want to miss those!! Make sure to add Vinyl Conflict on Facebook, as we will be posting all the wildness and updates for the store from their!
Headcount Records has no stopped running, our releases are still available and for the time being our web stores will still be separate. Eventually I will be combining them as we move our inventory into the store and their site. At some point we will be switching our web store link to the Vinyl Conflict web store, however in the meantime please feel free to shop on either.
As for future releases, we have some things in the works, but we need to get settled down in the shop first. There are 10 million things I want to do right now, but I need to keep focused. I hope to have our next release ready by early summer time.
All of our tentative releases were found new homes in attempt to keep things rolling along. The Slugz record is still set to drop soon on a friend of ours label (not sure if it was announced, not trying to blow up your spot!) and the Dry Feet 7″ we were going to do will be released by my wonderful girlfriend Melissa on her brand new label Secret Cookies records! I am very excited for her to be releasing something and probably many many more things you will want to hear!
The Imposters 7″ is under 100 copies! Make sure to snag those soon, once its gone its gone! They have a new LP called Animal Magnetism that takes their progression to all new grounds and even have another release around the corner.
Mirrors and Wires are still playing their butts off, make sure to go see them or book them in your town!
Face the Rail 7″ first press is under 20 copies, we do have plans to repress this however its going to take a little while before we get to that.
Again thanks again for your patience, and thank you especially for all of your support over the years!
Records>Shoes (kudos if you catch the reference)
